There are lantern festivals in Taiwan, tomato throwing festivals in Spain and beer related festivals in Munich. Then behold, the Gin Festival in Leeds. Ginny heads were out in full force to celebrate their love for gin by drinking gin, buying gin and being educated in all things gin.6 Continue reading

Day off so on a mad bake ting. Also any excuse to go to Morrisons and I’m all over it like a rash. Dry ice in a supermarket will never get old and lucky for me I needed to stock up on ingredients. Obviously easily impressed. Not really a looker but this is super easy, quick to make, tastes delightful and is a perfect Autumnal cake. That was a list and a half. Plus loaf cakes always seem healthy. I could justify having this for breakfast. EASILY. It uses two apples. TWO OF YO FIVE PEEPS, TWO OF YO FIVE.??????????

BBC Good Food Show- A place where it is acceptable to eat and drink as many samples as possible without being judged. Between all the hustle and bustle of people trying to snatch that last sample and trolleys being rolled over toes left, right and center, the whole thing sounds nothing less of a nightmare. But when there’s food (cheese, cheese and more cheese) and beverage treats  to keep you sane along the way I will happily comply to an occasional toe bashing by a trolley laden woman (clown feet could probably do with a down size from lack of toes). Feeling fresh on a Sunday is a very rare occurrence, so what else do you do when you’re feeling  not one quarter human and three quarters creature?  You make pretzels obviously. A grand total of six hours were spent making eight deformed pretzels in sea salt, cheddar and rosemary and cinnamon sugar flavour. Hard graft from balancing baking trays of dough on radiators to finding the rosemary plant in the garden in the dark was rewarded with a munch on a rock hard piece of pretzel. I can not make pretzels. In comparison to the bad boy pretzels in Munich that you could swing round your head and wear as a medallion (this never actually happened…) mine were piss poor. Munich pretzel and stein

More eggs in the form of an omelette. What happens when you like the snooze button too much is you forget things, mainly like getting your tea out of the freezer to defrost, but also running around like a lunatic (looneywoo) with a bag that also resembles a swimming pool, but that’s another story. Decided to do a Greek salad inspired omelette, with no salad and additional egg (if I see the word egg again I think I will actually vom). Whilst I do this, I also really like to wear a camera round my neck as I struggle to balance a really uncoordinated frying pan on the hob and simultaneously take pictures. S’all good.Image
